AHHH SUMMER

This would be easier if I would just keep up but it feels like all we do is GO GO GO especially in the Summer.   It is Tyson's busy time of the year with Horse trails, all the stuff at the park, the 24th, getting grass to grow etc....

SO HERE'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING

First .... I had to make a wedding cake, well didn't have to make it but this girl was getting married and they didn't have a lot of money and I had been wanting to try to make one so I volunteered. Boy was that  a lot of work, especially when it's your first and you spend most of your time just getting the right materials together.
She didn't really know what she wanted all she knew was she wanted a 3 tier cake, and her colors were lilac and green.

So here is what she got........

Not to bad for my very first wedding cake

NEXT.....We went to Missouri to see Rob and Trina and the kids for Memorial day.  We figured it would be the only chance we would get before things got to crazy!!!!

                                                           Isn't that sweet!!

We had a good time. It was so pretty and green out there. We went and saw this beautiful covered bridge, which is now part of a State Park.    We went bowling with the kids, Hung out in Kansas city, and Independence, toured the Church of Christ Temple, or snail temple, or as some like to call it, the Poop temple, visited the Amish village and ate some fresh homemade bread, it was delicious, and Tyson Played in the rain.

                                  TYSON IN THE RAIN

    Spiral Temple

                                                                   Covered Bridge

It was all fine and good until we went to the airport bright and early to leave and go figure we got stuck behind a bunch of  stupid people with liquids in there bags and the plane left fifteen minutes early.   So we got to hang out for 5 more hours  YEAH!!!.   Luckily Rob and Trina hadn't headed back yet so they came and picked us back up and let us hang out in Kansas City a while longer.   It sure did make for a long frustrating day.

THEN..... to real life.   Vacations suck because when you get home you have to go back to life, work, cleaning house etc.... and Tyson's Summers are very crazy anyways, and this year he has added quite a bit of mechanic work.  I don't think we have had less than 3 vehicles, that are not ours, sitting in my drive way or yard in months.

He recently had one very long week as a matter of fact it was a 90 hour week!!  crazy we were both so busy.   We've been working on our front yard planting new flowers, grass, plants, and fun stuff like that.  But we had bought all these plants and because things had been so crazy we hadn't had a chance to get them in the ground. So why he spent around 14 hours a day at work, I was trying to get all the plants in the ground. (I'll have some pictures next time)  And help him with work, and get over whatever sickness I had. It was insane, but we made it through.

NOTICING..... Have you ever noticed when things are crazy, there are little things that don't normally happen, that happen to make life seem even crazier.   Well our cat, has always delighted us in the summer with little creatures such as lizards, or birds.  But this year has been a special delight.  We have had a few lizards, and I have saved one birds life, but the poor, poor rabbits.   We found 3  - half bunnies, just the bottom halves mind you, in our living room. Then as you'll see from the photo below, Tyson saved one she brought in. He tried to let it go, but it just ran back to him and stood by him.  So we put it in a cage with food and water, but it only lived for about 3 days.

We didn't photo the 2nd live one we caught hiding in our Bedroom. Thank goodness we have curious dogs, or we may have never found it. It was only a little bigger than this one, and it actually ran off when Tyson put it down. So we don't know if it lived or died.

FINALLY.... While Tyson was at work that long week, I went and picked up the new pool I bought him. For those of you who don't know, Tyson LOVES to swim.   We had a smaller pool last year, but we decided to upgrade.   He could spend hours outside just cleaning the pool, let alone swimming.  It's crazy, but it's very stress relieving for him. So, I'm good with it.
I wanted the pool to be set up when he was done with his long week, so he didn't have to worry about it and he could just enjoy it.   So I spent Saturday morning putting the pool together, of course, not by myself!!   I couldn't even get it out of the back of the truck myself.  The thing had to way around 300lbs, it was insane.

I don't know how much time we have spent in it personally, but some of Tyson's family came over, and they put it to use.   I think total in 2 days his 3 nieces each spent at least 12 or more hours in that pool.
Then my nieces and nephews came over for the 4th, and spent a few hours swimming. So, we may not have all the time in the world to be in it, but it is being used.  I made this special video below so you can see the PARTY!

WAIT! WAIT !... I forgot. There is one more strange thing. We bought a new car. Okay new is being very generous. It is new for us, and Tyson just loves it.  It is paid for, and it gets great gas mileage......

But ohhhh  how she needs some TLC
